1. Socializing with other animals
This is still possible, but you have to be a little more creative for this. Do you want to introduce your dog to other dogs? Then go to a (dog) park regularly, even if you have to get in the car to do so. I strongly recommend this, to prevent your puppy from having problems with other dogs later.Of course, keep a distance of 1.5 meters with the other owners.
Would you like to introduce your dog to cats? Then simply walk more often through that one street where you always see cats. Do you know someone close to you who has cats at home? Ask him or her if you can come by and stand in their garden. If you regularly stand in that garden with your pup and one or more cats, your pup will get used to them in no time.

As mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to go to a (dog) park, even if you have to get in your car to do so. in fact, this is not a bad idea. Regularly take your puppy for a ride in the car. Does your puppy find this scary in the beginning? It’s a good (and very safe) idea to buy a transport kennel for in the car. You can also choose to buy a dog seat belt, but puppies often find it more comfortable to go in a kennel as they feel safe in it.

3. Brushing, Brushing and Brushing
Many dogs hate brushing, while others look forward to it. This has everything to do with the age at which they were brushed and how this was done then. Puppies have a lovely fluffy fur at an early age and don’t usually need to be groomed yet, but it’s not a bad idea to do this though. Use a soft puppy brush and get your dog used to the idea of brushing. This certainly applies to the long-haired breeds!

4. Toothbrushing

By introducing your puppy early with toothbrushing you prevent that you do not get this done at a later age.

5. Behavioral training
Before the Corona-situation you might have participated in a puppy course. Unfortunately that is not always possible now. By purchasing your own training set and training guide, you can teach your pup many commands and tricks yourself. You could take a training set with you to the dog park!
